At the end of July, my net worth went down for the first time in over a year by 0.77%, to end at $276,872.53 which is an decrease of over $2,150 from last month. The stock market did pretty well this month, but because of a significant cash expense for a new roof (over $9,000) I just simply didn’t have enough gains to offset that expense.

As of August 11, the market is down significantly, so it appears (at least as of today) that I will end the month with my second decrease in a row.  If it does, this will be something that has never happened in the life of this blog.  I’m not deterred though, as this is expected with ups and downs in the market.  I’ve been rather spoiled seeing constant gains, so it’s time for the hit so I don’t become complacent.
