January 2017 Net Worth Update

We’re 1 month into 2017, and so far, so good!  At the end of January, my net worth went up by just under 3 percent, to $237,724.22, which is a net increase of $6,897 over last month! Primary contributors to this increase was a 5% net increase in brokerage accounts (market gains and additional investments).  Retirement also went up by over 4%, also due to market gains and new cash going in.

November 2016 Net Worth Update

At the end of November, 2016, my net worth went up by about 2 percent to $225,556.23 – an increase of $4,352.91. A stock market rally post-Trump helped the overall market set record gains, and my investment portfolio being mostly US stocks, took part in that rally.  I invested about $1,300 in personal brokerage accounts in the month of November, so I still have about $3,750 to go in December to catch up to my 2016 goal of investing $16,000 (net of investment income).
