April 2015 Net Worth Update

As of April 30, 2015, my net worth went up by $4,308.33, to a total of $153,788.08.  Solid increases in brokerage and retirement accounts helped this out, along with a big contribution to my mortgage liability ($2,000 in additional principal payments) without having to dip into cash reserves.  While Credit Cards went up by about $700, this will be paid off at the end of next month.

Net Worth April 2015

Wow was March a great month, financially speaking!  As of March 31, 2015, my net worth went up by $10,998.21, to a total of $149,479.59.  I saw increases in every category, most notably cash (up $6,200) and retirement (up $2,609) because March is when I received my company bonus and state tax refund.  Note that 6% of my bonus money is contributed to 401(k) automatically, post-tax.  Under liabilities, every category decreased with the exception of property tax liability, which is roughly 2 months of liability because I forgot to add it in February’s calculation.

Foreshadowing April, I expect a decrease in cash by about $2500.  I am planning a trip to Vegas which will cost me a few grand, which will be partially offset by my federal tax refund.  We’ll see how it plays out, anything can happen.

Net Worth Feb 2015

As of February 28, 2015, my net worth went up by $7,058.30 $7,058.20*, to a total of $139,586.22 $139,586.12*.  This went up primary due to increases in retirement, cash, brokerage accounts, and escrow.  This was partially offset by an increase in property tax liabilities, and a decrease in pre-paid expenses.

Retirement and brokerage were the ones that shined this month.  I contributed a total of $615 to 401(k), including my employer’s match.  Another $400 went to Roth IRA, and another $1,102 went to brokerage.  The rest of the increase was due to market appreciation.
